"The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Columbia)

In the story of "The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World" is very interresing and sad at the same time. When they go and see who was missing from the other villages the ladies made him some clothes bacuse he was to big and tall that nothing was his size. When they decided to send him to the sea they were planing to tie him with an anchor so he wouldnt come back. But they realized the reason why he had came with them and did not tie the anchor on him so he could come back anytime he wanted. Since then everything changed and the people started to make big and tall houses.
The kind of funeral i want my friends and family have for me is simple. I dont want such of a big thing because i wont be there with them no more. I want people to wear all white and not black and i dont want people to cry for me. The funeral i want its not similar to any other i have seen because most of them people wear black and feel all sad. This story reveals how many Latin Americans care for death people even though they didnt know that person. They try to have the best funeral they can.

"The Youngest Doll' by Rosario Ferre (Puerto Rico)

The scariest movie I ever seen would be Freddy vs. Jason. It probably was scary because people died anyways. If you were sleeping Freddy would kill you but if you stay awake then Jason would kill you. Some of the characteristics many horror films share is that they kill people. Also that most of the killers are either already death and ugly or someone from the past and almost died.
The story of "The Youngest Doll" is not scary like movies but it is kind of weird because of the ending it has. The aunt had many nieces so she would make them a new doll every year. The dolls look almost exactly like the girls. Even the sizes of them were similar. When the girls were old enough and married they would make them the last doll and they got to keep it. For the last and youngest girl she made the most beautiful doll. Her eyes were diamonds and it had filling of honey. The girl and her husband the doctor moved to town so she was far from her family. One night the husband came to see her wife and noticed
that the girl was the doll, her heart had a filling of honey.

"No Dogs Bark" by Juan Rulfo (Mexico)

No Dogs Bark is a mexican short story that exlpains the caring heart of a father who want to save his sons life just because thats what his mother would do. But he also doesn't want him to be his son no more because of all the hurt he did to his mother. As the son and father head together for help they start talking to each other so much that they didn't hear dogs following them.

The parent I would be is a responsible, caring, and a fun parent. When my son/daughter becomes a teenager I will treat them like my parents treat me. With all the trust but still not let them go out alone because, I will trust them but not the people he/she hangs out with. In one way im similar to Ignacio is that I would care for my son but I would never tell him that hes not my son anymore. Thats like telling him that you dont love him any more.

"Borders" by Thomas King (Canada)

"Borders" is a story about a family that are Native
Americans and their tribe is know as Blackfoot. The oldest daughter moved to America for a better live. She has a good job there and she misses her family. One day her mom and brother decided to go to America to visit her. When they got to the canada they didnt let them pass because they didnt say if they were Americans or Canadians. After some time they finally let them in.

I think that is nice to say where you come from but sometimes if you really have to say from what country you come itz better to say it. This woman did what her heart told her to, but for that she had some many back and forth trips from the Canada and America borders. For me, both are important for me, my nationality and ethnicity because they both are what I came from.
